Messenger installation alert

Running XP Home with SP2. I get an alert every 2 minutes
saying that it has allowed Messenger (msmsgs.exe) to be
installed in my start up file. Any idea why these alerts
started all of a sudden (they just started this morning
when I started my computer).Is there any way to stop these
alerts or do I have to turn off the "allowed alerts"
notification?
 
Thanks. Turning off alerts may not be recommended but it
has to be better than having the window pop up every 2
minutes disrupting whatever I am trying to do.
