Hi Stuart,
On looking at this issue from a generic troubleshooting point of view, the
following conditions can cause such an issue:
- Shockwave or Game Object is corrupt.
- An application running in the background is causing conflict.
- A firewall is causing conflict.
In order to troubleshoot the issue, uninstall all the classes and objects
related to the game:
Uninstall
-----------
1. Click on Start -> Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel, click on Internet Options.
3. Here, under the General tab, under Temporary Internet Files, click on
‘Settings’.
4. In the Settings box, click on View Objects.
5. This will open up a list of all the web-installed programs. One by one,
right click on each of the following entries present and select ‘Remove’:
- CBreakshotControl Class
- MessengerStatsClient Class
- Shockwave Flash Object
- Update Class
- ZoneIntro Class
- ZoneChess Object
Note: A dialog box will appear asking you if you are sure you want to remove
the Class/Object; click ‘Yes’.
If the issue persists Reinstall Shockwave
--------------------------------------------------
1. Connect to the Internet.
2. Click on the following link:
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages_mmcom/default.html
3. In a few seconds of opening this link, you will receive a box that has a
heading “Security Warningâ€. Click on ‘Yes’
4. This will begin the installation of Shockwave Player. It might take a few
minutes to complete this installation. I appreciate your patience in this
regard.
5. After the installation is complete, you may be required to register the
Shockwave Player. Please fill in the details as appropriate.
Now launch the game. It will ask you regarding installation about certain
objects. Click Yes.
If the issue continues to occur, please ensure that any anti-virus or
firewall is not running in the background. Some common software firewalls
include: ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, McAfee Security, BlackIce, etc.
Regards,
Sasank
