Hi J5,
No, all MSN/Windows Messenger versions [that are able to connect to the service] have basic
features that are compatible with one another. The only thing that could be showing this
type of effect is if you set yourself as 'Busy' -- when you set yourself as 'Busy', you won't
receive any "alerts" (otherwise known as "toast") for contacts signing in, etc.

Hi again,
when I am signed into messenger but not actually using it there is a light
blue box that pops up when a contact signs in isn't there, well some
contacts pop up when they sign in and some dont, I was wondering if it might
be that they dont have the same version of messenger as I do?
Thank's again.
what's
occurring?
