i have tried to use messenger 6.0 via broadband (blueyonder 512k in uk ) to
a mate of mine and can activate webcam conversation with no problems. But i
cannot activate voice. both work fine in netmeeting but this is a little
limited in functionality.
Any body got an answer?

look to see where your audio data is going, ie is it going
to the modem, or sound card, or just where?

There should be a program that came with your sound card
for recording and such, look in there for audio source
and output

i have a gigabyte ga7zxe mboard with sound built in. i am using the mic
input with mic boost and can find no reference as to where to send the
sound. i am a little confused over your suggestion.

thanx BOfH

I have a sound blaster live, in the creative software that
came with the card, depending on what I'm doing, ie
recording or just listening, I can choose the source of
the sound, ie microphone, sound card, modem, external
source, etc... I can also choose where to send the sound,
ie speakers, or external source or modem, etc....
You must have an option somewhere to choose where the
sound goes, a file, an external source, the modem
etc.. look in the software that came with the webcam!
it should have options to choose from, I've not worked
with a webcam, not sure of how the software works.
have you tried net meeting, supplied within windows..

I guess it would help if I actually read your posts.
Sorry bout that..
I found a link from microsoft that talks about the min
requirements for sound and video via webcams and messenger
6, have you read this??? does your system meet the min?
it says easy to configure just use the webcam icon in your
task tray?? also accessible using webphone software.
