Does anybody know how much bandwidth Messenger 6 takes
when only using ordenery chat?

Does it use any when not chatting?

Greetings Calle,

It's really difficult to indicate this, simply because it depends how much you chat with
people, what features you're using (MSN Messenger 6's display pictures, custom emoticons,
etc.) and so on.

While not "chatting", if people change their status, change their name, etc. on your contact
list, this will of course, be communicated to your connection to the .NET Messenger network.
MSN Messenger 6 also sends various "keep alive" messages occasionally as well.

The bandwidth use however, is [probably] much lower then going to say, an average web page --
Messenger has always been considered a low bandwidth application.
