Messenger 6.0 Audio problem

I am having audio connection problem. I CAN Webcam with anyone and all
other functions but not audio. I've tried DMZ my computer but still no
luck. The router I am using is LINKSYS and there's no new update for
firmware. The webcam and built-in audio work fine when I use it on my
friend's computer. I've even tried to refresh the QoS packet but ended up
the same. Every time when I click on the Audio buttom, it gives me the
following after couple seconds.

"The network or computer you are trying to reach is experiencing a problem.
Please try again later."

This problem occurs with my notice after I have installed ver 6.0, I can
voice with my friends with the previous version. Does anyone know how to
solve this?

Thank you,

James

I also have a linksys router which is UPnP supported (there's not many of
those are there guys!) and also has the same problem with MSN Messenger 6.
Previous versions worked fine, the question is will this bug be fixed in
future versions of Messenger or will it be a firmware update on the router?

Dunc!

Hey

I had the same problem until I made a change in my network connection and
the people I talk to did the same thing.

Look at the properties of you network connection.

I removed the checks in the boxes from all EXCEPT the following three:

Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Hi Spike,

What you have done is effectively disabled the QoS Packet
Scheduler as recommend in my post!!

I'm glad it worked. It looks like this a bug that is
effecting quite a lot of people!
