Messenger 4.7 suppose to run in backround when 6.1 installed?

I installed MSN Messenger 6.1. When I check the options for instant
messaging in Outlook XP, it says that Messenger can run in background, even
though it does not load at windows startup.

Am I suppose to uncheck the run in background box, or does Netmeeting still
need this to be checked?
