Messenger 4.7.2009 Problems

Scott

I posted this yesterday with no response from anyone. Am I the only one
experiencing this issue?

If I use windows messenger 4.7.2009 and I receive a voice invitation or app
sharing, etc. And I click on the popup box and accept it. Windows messenger
shuts down and I receive an error.

Greetings Scott,

What's the error you're seeing? Assuming it's in the "we are sorry for the inconvenience..."
window, click the "click here" link -- in the next screen, you'll see something like the
following:
szAppName : msmsgs.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.0 szModName : rpcrt4.dll

If you could reply back with what the szModName has in your error, would make it easier to
determine what the problem is.

Thank you Missy for your reply.

As to answer your questions regarding my problem. I am running winxp pro
with all updates. I would like to use MSN Messenger 6, but I have problems
getting all the features to work due to my linksys router. I need to open
port 5004-65535. Unfortanatly this router will not open port 65535. It is
the last port and I have been told by linksys that this port can not be
opened with this model router.
Windows Messenger 5 works fine, but theere is no alerts and no send text to
a mobile devise which I use all the time. So that puts me back to Windows
Messenger 4.7.2009. Hope you understand my situation now :)

I have a Linksys BEFSR81 and with the latest firmware it supports UPnP,
which seems to work perfectly with Messenger 6. I can do video chat,
transfer files, play games, etc.
