I messed up my dual boot. Now all I see is XP Home. Is there some "recovery"
capability to reboot with the installation CDROM? how can I get back to
Vista? it was working great until I messed with Ubuntu Linux and it installed
Grub. Now I need to get back to Vista and can't quite figure it out.
thanks,
Ken

How is your system set up (partitions, hard drives, how many, what is
where...)? Hardware configuration? What did you do to "mess up" your
multi-boot scenario?

Hi Mark, I am setup with a brand new Dell 5150 and a 160GB SATA-II disk. I
partitioned it suing Acronis. Somewhere along the line I must have been in
XP and issued the fixmbr and fixboot commands from the recovery boot option
of the CD.

To fix the problem I downloaded and executed the WONDERFUL utility called
"EasyBCD" (or VistaBootPRO) and used the "restore Vista boot loader" option.
That totally fixed my problem.

I can now quadruple boot into Ubuntu, Xandros, Vista, and XP :-)

thank you Mark for your kind response to the post. I feel a ton better now
that I know where I can find a support group.

all the best,
ken
