Messages won't stay on the server

I just configured outlook to pull messages from an email account hosted by my
web site provider. I think this is called a pop3 account. I want to use
outlook but I also want the message to stay on the server so I can check it
from work, etc... I HAVE checked the box that says "leave message on server"
and then you have an option of saying how many days or until deleted. It
still does not leave the message on the server. What else do I need to do.

THanks!

After checking the "leave message on server" have you closed then re-opened
Outlook? Sometimes this helps..... I'm not an expert, just someone that has
found this quite often helps when all else fails :-)

Hi Geordie52~

Thanks for the quick response but unfortunately I have done this. I actually
tried this several days ago and came back to it this morning thinking maybe
there is something I've missed but I still don't see anything. I asked
support for my web site host and they said the leave message on server is the
only thing they knew of but that the problem is with outlook not on their
end.

hi diana
On the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts.
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
Under Name, select the POP3 account you want to change, and then click Change.
Click More Settings.
Click the Advanced tab, and then under Delivery, select the Leave a copy of
messages on the server check box.
You can also select whether to automatically remove messages from your
e-mail server after a specified number of days, when you delete the item on
your computer, or when the Deleted Items folder is emptied. These settings
may help prevent you from exceeding the mailbox size limit amount your ISP
has set.

P.S.

dont select remove from server after .... days
dont select remove from server when deleted from ' deleted Items'

Hi Ramy,

Thanks for the reply. I did not go through the steps, but when I said in my
original post "I HAVE checked the box that says "leave message on server" - I
am referring to the steps you outlined in your post. I have also tried the
various options of selecting/not selecting remove from server after...days,
remove from server when deleted from "deleted items'. There is obviously
something else missing.???

which option did you choose - for x days or until deleted? Does it work if
you change that option? Do you have the latest updates installed for
outlook?

I'm having the same problem: "leave a copy...on server" IS checked; neither
of the two options below it are checked. I (like others on here) know exactly
what to do in order to make this process happen, yet Outlook is still
deleting the message from the server after downloading it, so that I don't
then see it in webmail when I open webmail after opening Outlook. Please help!

I also have this issue. I see your post was back in April. Have you been able
to resolve the issue?

Thanks. Robert
