messages do not send or receive?

Here is my error message:

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.
Subject 'hello there', Account: 'pop3 ', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

To access your Hotmail/Live account with Windows Mail, you have to access
the
Hotmail/Live POP3 server (mail is downloaded to your computer).

With the newer Windows Live Mail, you can access the Hotmail/Live account
via
DeltaSync (mail is kept on the server).

I just setup windons mail and I'm getting the above message. Can you help?

You're not using the correct settings for AOL accounts.
Delete that account, then set up a new account using the IMAP
protocol. Follow AOL's instructions:
http://postmaster.aol.com/imap/express.html

Those instructions were written for Outlook Express, but
Windows Mail uses the same settings as Outlook Express.
