Hi,
When i create a new message and click send the message goes in to my outbox.
Only when i exit windows mail and start the programme again will the message
send.

Not very practical when trying to have a conversation with someone

I have tried the mwutil programme but this has not helped.

Can anyone help, please.

Sounds like you are running some incompatible third party
security software. Windows Mail is not compatible with most
McAfee or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled. Then try your mail again. It should work now.

Then, at your convenience, install a more compatible antivirus
like the free Avast:

I am currently running without virus protection as i have seen that many
people could be having a problem norton. I was having problems sending at
all, i tried all the possible ways to sort it out and ended up removing vista
and installing xp. This would not send emails either, i reloaded vista and
now it will send but only when i exit the programme.

Do you get an error message when you try to send?

Is there an undeletable email stuck in the Outbox?

Can you elaborate on "I have tried the mwutil programme but this has not helped."
How did it fail? Any error message?

Hi,

There is no error message

Emails are not stuck, they can be deleted and will send when i restart the
programme.

When i first had problems the email would not send at all and i got the
error message that so many others have. When i reinstalled vista i checked
the box in the connections tab 'always connect to this account' (LAN network)
i never got any error messages after this. Message just stayed in outbox
until restarting windows mail. I tried the wmutil just to see if this helped,
i clicked on all the buttons and tried everything this programme had to offer.

Cheers

Hi,

Even tried installing my old version of outlook 2003. With that a get an
error message 'cannot find WAB DLL', i believe that this is to do with the
address book.

I guess i will just have to live with it, hopefully there will be a free
upgrade of vista and their problems wil be sorted.

Barry

Hi
I had same problem but now resolved through usuage or maybe, when accidently
suspending my Norton Utilities AntiViris Suite's PopBlocker for 5 minutes.

Hi, thanks for replying. This doesn't work either. I wish i had never
purchased a new computer with Vista pre loaded.

Thanks
Barry

Menu (ALT if not visible) > Tools > Options > Send tab, do you have "Send
messages immediately" checked?

Which antivirus are you running?
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or
Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Hi Barry
Sorry it did not help. You echo my own thoughts but the PC's specifications
at such a low cost were too good to miss. Hopefully in time Microsoft will
provide a patch.
