Ive just done some message rules in O\Express under mail rules.I ticked
where subject line contains specific words and added them one at a time,
and also ticked where the message body contains specific words and added
one at a time.
Then i ticked \delete it\\and stop proccessing more rules i okayed it and
applied it.
I then sent an e-mail to myself with a prohibited word in the subject line
and then another in the message body but they both
were recieved into my inbox intead of my deleted items folder

where have I gone wrong??
Is there a how to on message rules that I can be directed to.
Thanks in advance

Tried that and didn't work so I unchecked where the message body option ,
and it now works.
Which must mean that I will have to make another message rule for the
prohibited words in the message body option.

I thought that by ticking the other option boxes it would apply all
prohibited words under one single message rule.
which to mee still seems that way, or should be that way,but I suppose I'll
just have to go through the long proccess of adding all the prohibited words
again to message body option and applying another message rule name or
number.
hopefullysomeone else may benefit from this info too.

PMc sounds like you did everytihing right but you really
only need to use the message body contains.
Do this,this will work.
First here's an annoying email that use to get in my inbox
(e-mail address removed)
Do this...,get in your Message Rules
Then click Mail Rule
Click New (it's on the right side)
1)Then select Where the message body contains specific
words
2)Then select Delete it
3)Click on contains specific words (highlighted in blue)
4)Then type in the mail you don't want in the inbox
You only need to put down @ and then rest like this
@hungermail.com not the whole email
Then click add
Then click ok
Then click ok
Then click apply now
There you go my friend no more crap of that type of email
will be in the inbox it will go straight to deleted items.
Now go get them and kick there butts!!!

These turkeys are getting around anything I now put in. I'm in the process
of using in options the "not" category to limit my mail to a specified few
people and businesses. Look at trhe options button once an entry has been
made.

Thanks for your input

I've now done ...tools\ message rules\mail\new\where the message body
contains specific words\delete it\then clicked on the blue highlighted
\where the message body contains specific words and added p.mc\ options\
message does not contain the word below.\ok\ok\apply now and so on .

Then went in to.... tools\options\signatures\new\
Then typed in the message and signature below

click on advance\ticked on mail\apply\ok.

So now I only recieve mail with my sinature and when subscribing to anything
ie magazines or other fill in your name as p.mc and they usually send mail
starting ..Hi p.mc.. assuring mail will be recieved.

I know this post is a bit long winded, but it is a new users group so I've
made it user friendly.
Hopefully this will be of some use someone

Try this it works quite well

W\XP Home Outlook Express V:6

This will now recieve all posts from friends even with prohibited words in
subject line and in message body as long as you have your signature in
mail.
But won't allow any junk mail with prohibited words in subject line or
message body unless there is a reference to your signature somewhere in the
mail ,and if you think this works quite well you have the option to (delete)
or (not download from the server)

Hope you find this usefull

tools\message rules\mail\new\where the subject line contains specific
words\delete it\then clicked on the blue highlighted
\where the subject line blah blah\add words one at a time

then click options\message contains the words below\then message matches all
of the words below.

NOW DO ...tools\ message rules\mail\new\where the message body contains
specific words\delete it\then clicked on the blue highlighted
\where the message body contains specific words and added p.mc\ options\
message does not contain the word below.\ok\ok\apply now and so on .

NOW DO.... tools\options\signatures\new\

Then type in the message and signature below

eg : Please type in A.D in personal replies

NOW DO...click on advance\tick on mail\apply\ok.

So now you will only recieve mail with your signature and when subscribing
to
anything
ie: magazines or other fill in your name as [A.D] and they usually send
mail
starting ..Hi [A.D].. assuring mail will be recieved.

Please type in p.mc in personal replies
or leave signature in otherwise posts will
not be recieved
