Hi, I just switched to Outlook from Outlook Express and I
have attempted numerous times to set up message rules (to
filter spam). I've gone through the Rules Wizard 2 dozen
times, have checked to make sure none of my rules
contradict each other etc, done everything suggested by
the Help screen, and still the rules do not go into
effect. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks.

What do you mean the rules do not go into effect?

I mean I ask it to send emails with certain specific words
in the subject or body to a special folder, and it doesn't
do that. the emails just come into my inbox and stay there.

I thought I posted this reply before, so forgive me if its
there somewhere. What I mean is I make a rule saying
certain if certain words are in the body or subject of the
message I want it sent to a particular folder after it
arrives--but it doesn't happen--messages with these words
in them keep coming into my inbox. I've tried again and
again going over the rules wizard to make sure nothing is
preventing the rule from working, but it still doesn't
work. this is in outlook 2000.

Do you have the "stop processing more rules" condition checked? You need
that.
