message rule only allowing messages from people in address book

can someone please give me the instructions for only allowing messages from
people in address book

also how do i stop people from automatically being added to my addressbook

Linda,

You didn't say which version of Outlook you're using. So I will give you
instructions using Outlook 2003.

In Outlook, click the Actions menu,then select Junk E-mail, then Junk
E-mail Options. You can then select on the Options tab Safe Lists Only.
Then select the Safe Senders tab and check the box for trusting your
contacts.

As for automatically being added to your address book, I know that this
feature is in Outlook Express. If you are using OE, then the information
given above will not work. To stop automatic adds in OE, go to the Tools
menu, choose Options, select the Send tab, and uncheck the option there.
