message on istalling service pack 3

I hope this is the right place for this but here goes.
I installed service pack 3 on reboot this message appeared
"registry has reached the maximum size allowed for system part of registry
additional storage requests will be ignored"
what is this and how can it be fixed, made bigger, whatever needs to be done.
