I just purchased this computer with Vista installed.
I am receiving messages fine, but cannot send.
I receive an error message that says "This message could not be sent."
I first tried to send it asa reply to a received message. I then tried to
send it as a new message. NEITHER WORKED!!!!
WHAT'S THE SOLUTION?

Is that the complete error message?
We need the whole thing.

That doesn't sound like a Windows Mail error message.
By any chance are you running one of the non-compatible antivirus
programs, McAfee or Norton? If so, you will need to uninstall it.

Check your mail server account to make sure your out going mail server
address is correct

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection. Beside that,
McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.

Who is your ISP? They should have website that explains how to
set up a mail account. Most have not updated their instructions
for Windows Mail, but you can use the instructions for Outlook Express.

To check your server settings in Windows Mail, go to Tools, Accounts,
select the account, Properties, Servers.

You probably don't have the correct settings for your outgoing mail
server. Who is your email provider? Many people choose their
internet provider as their email provider also, since most internet
accounts include one or more email accounts.

Also, is that the complete error message? If not, right click on it and
copy all of it to your next message.

Interference from antivirus programs often causes problems with
sending mail. What if any antivirus programs do you have, and have
you ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on that computer?
New computers often come with a trial version of an antivirus program
already installed.
