I upgraded from Office 2000 Premium to Office 2003. I open an email in
Outlook 2003 and I get a message that it is looking for Office 2000 Premium
to load a feature. I don't know how to identify what feature it is looking
for. And why is it looking there?

Am using Windows XP Home, sp2.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you still have any Office 2000 programs installed?

Jocelyn,
Thanks for your response.

At first I chose the Upgrade option during setup and when I had this problem
I think I went back and chose full install. I just went into Program Files
and saw that I have an "Office" folder and an "OFFICE 11" folder under
Microsoft Office. I looked in the "Office" folder and the only exe files left
there are for Front Page and Access.

I started each just to test their viability. Access opened without any
problem but Front Page prompted for the Office 2000 CD (which I no longer
have) just like the email did.

Immediately after I select the email, it begins the search for the Office
2000 feature. I cancel the dialog boxes and then the email loads with nothing
missing. It has animated icons so I am wondering if they are initiating the
search since other emails don't cause this problem.

To see if Front Page itself was connected, I renamed the exe file to
Frontpg.old. The problem persists. Is there anything I can do to get at the
root of this?

Thanks. Mark

How about if you go into Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs -- do you see
FrontPage or any other Office 2000 applications listed there?

The only option I have in Add or Remove Programs is to remove "Microsoft
Office 2000 Premium". As I said I wanted to keep Access 2000. But do you
think I just have to go ahead and remove the whole suite to get at the
problem. I was just hoping there was another way to isolate the cause without
haveing to lose Access. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

You should be able to remove everything but Access 2000 and then install
everything from Office 2003 except for Access.

Sorry, I must have missed the part about you wanting to keep Access 2000 -- I
didn't realize that. Brian's advice should work for you. Let us know.
