OK, I can open the message just fine and it comes up in a separate
box, but when I hit "reply", the box with the new message disappears
completely. The message does *not* disappear from my inbox. The weird
thing is that this used to work just fine on my computer, and I am not
sure what I could have done to change it so it doesn't work.

Thanks for any help.

Could it be that you have set Outlook in the options area
to "Close original message on reply or forward"?

If so try opening your TOOLS menu
Select OPTIONS
Click the E-MAIL OPTIONS... button
Turn off the check mark next to:
"Close original message on reply or forward"

Nikki,

Thanks for answering, but no that box isn't checked. And anyways it
doesn't even allow me to reply. When I hit the button to reply it
simply closes the message immediately, before I can type the reply.

You may want to try using the "Detect and Repair".

Open Outlook
Select the HELP menu
Select DETECT AND REPAIR...
