I have the following in a message (.mc) file:

FacilityNames=(Application=0xFFF:FACILITY_APPLICATION)

.... and the message compiler warns me as follows:

ErrorMessages.mc(21) : warning : Redefining value of Application

Is there a way of suppressing this warning? I like to have warn free builds.

Thanks, Jan

PS: I have found this question asked, but never answered...

Hello Jan,

We are finding the owner of mc.exe now. It is a tool in Platform SDK. So we may still need some more time to find the right
answer to it.

Thanks very much for your patience.

Hi Jan,

Yes. Things are getting complicated since it is not owned by dotnet or vc team. It is owned by platfrom SDK team. We will do
our best on it. Just have one question, why can't you change the name of that variable to avoid the warning message? That
should be a better solution.

Thanks.

Thanks for pointing this out, it works. Just makes me wonder why "System" is
OK, but "Application" issues a warning, but I don't care about that anymore.

Thanks, Jan
