"message cannot be found"

re windows mail...i don't know what happened..i cannot retrieve my (inbox)
mail for the last 2 months (frankly, not that much, because i use gmail for
the most part, but still important material)..the message i get is: "message
cannot be found"

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
should be uninstalled.
