Could you describe your scenario to me? Why do you want to ensure the SIP
icon is hidden?
Under current versions of NetCF, a MainMenu is always supposed to be
accompanied with the SIP keyboard icon. Since the SIP keyboard icon has
been known to often disappear, NetCF will force it's appearence in response
to certain events to maintain this behavior (such as form activation).
PInvoking to change this behavior isn't recommended (since it can be easily
broken in future versions).

I have some code in my from to use a mainmenu and hide the SIP
however, the SIP refuses to go away (the code i have is basically what has
been reposted here several times, it's no different. the strange thing is,
once the form loads and i call a message box, when the message box is
closed the SIP has disappeared.
anyone have a form example where the mainmenu is included but the SIP is
hidden?
