Message box font sizes

I have a problem with some message boxes that appear in applications - the
font size is too big, so that the text can't all be viewed because the box is
too small for it and the box can't be resized.

This does not affect all the standard windows message boxes, which are
correctly sized, but seems to only be a problem in some applications. I
wonder if it has something to do with 16 / 32-bit compatability. Maybe an
older program I installed has reset something. Any idea where I can put these
text box fonts back to defaults ?

Try going into Start, Control Panel, Display (or Appearance and Themes, then
Display) if using Windows XP). Select the Appearance Tab, then the Advanced
Tab. This will take you to a drop down list for various views (such as Menu,
Icons,
etc.). Select Icon, then change to a lower font size (and even to a
different font if you want). This should help with the lettering within the
icon's text box.

I have a problem similar to Dorian's, except that Shamoor's solution below
won't help because I cannot validate my choice (ie., change the font size) by
clicking OK (because the window is too small for the OK to appear and it
cannot be resized).
Any idea ? Please help !
