Merging two (almost) identical contact sets

Hello,

I have two contact sets which have pretty much the same contacts. They
were each maintained manually by two people. They would like to create
a unified contact set where individual contact data is accumulative
and is not replaced. i.e. person 1 updates their friend joe bloggs
with note "yellow car" and person 2 updates his entry for joe bloggs
with "white house".

They require the new contact set such that joe bloggs will show both
yellow car and white house.

How do do?

I would add both to the same folder, then use one of the duplicate tools found at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm#dupes
