Merging old/new outlook files

I had to re-do my OS because something was corrupt. I saved my Outlook files
onto a disc. I re-installed everything, including the Outlook files, and
everything was fine. However, when I re-installed Office 2003, it installed
a new version of Outlook, overwriting my old outlook account. All of my
email files are gone save the ones in the last day since the new version
downloaded. How can I copy the same files back onto this new account? I
tried copying them into the "pst" file, but I did something wrong.

Please help!

Hi Russ,

I feel a little dense right now... I had Outlook Express before, and I
didn't use a pst file... I can't seem to figure out how to connect the data
files again even after following all the directions on that website you sent.
My computer is only showing one Personal folder (except for the one I
created that has nothing in it)... the old file does not seem to appear.
They were all separate files that I could access previously. Now they seem
to be locked inside a pst folder that I cannot open to alter and add the new
files.

What am I doing wrong?

Happy Turkey day by the way!! Thanks for responding to my question. This
thing has been so aggravating.

Reinstalling Outlook never touches your data. All it did is create a new
profile. Your old data is still intact. Find that Outlook Data File and
reconnect your current profile to it:

Can't be done.
You can only transfer OE data to OE. If you don't know how, ask in an OE
group.
Once you have it in OE, you can import it into Outlook.
