Has anyone had any experience using Access as the source
for merged information into a WordPerfect document. Text
appears to work well, but dates and numbers don't. Does
WP just see all Access data as text characters?

I would think the best approach is to base the merge on a query. In that
query, you can pre-format the date and numbers anyway you want. I would bet
that you get best results by exporting that query to a text file (csv), and
then merging that text file.

The other advantage of using the query builder is that you can sort, and
restrict the records to whatever conditions you want. For example, if you
want a date format as:

mm/dd/yyyy

Then you can in the query builder format the date field like:

MyInvoiceDateF:format(MyInInvoicedate,"mm/dd/yyyy")

So, check out help on the format command, but you can well format dates and
numbers to anything you want.
