Merging Cells

I have three separate columns, which make up one full part number. I need to combine these columns in a way that allows me to cut and paste the result to a completely separate spreadsheet. I've tried =A1&B1 but when the column is copied Excel can't find the references it needs to display the information. The merge cells button leaves the information from only one cell.

The alternative is for me to reformat and manually correct a list of 64,000 part numbers, any one want to help?

Have you tried changing the formula to its value after combining?

I'm not following your question. Is there a function that can do that, or are you refering to going back through and changing the result?

I didn't ask a question. I suggested that you change to resulting formula to
a value.

First....when you say "spreadsheet" are you talking about a separate workbook
or a worksheet in the same workbook?

I will assume other workbook.

In any case, I would first combine in original workbook using =A1&B1&C1 in D1
and drag/copy down 64,000 rows.

You can copy column D and Paste Special>Values to a sheet in the other
workbook.

Original workbook Column D can now be deleted.
