merge/combine/cleanup duplicate contacts

I have several copies of the same contacts that occured a while back when trying to sync my contacts with my iPAQ. Now I just want to clean up my contacts folder combining the duplicate records as some have changes that others do not. Is there a way to 'select two records, then merge' or something
