Mercury under 2k

I tried to install Mercury under 2k and the program just attempts to start
and then exits. Is is possible to run it under 2k? Any other freeware
alternatives?
 
You might try opening a command prompt and changing to your Mercury
directory and then type mercury.exe and see if it spits out an error. HTH.

It justs shows a startup screen and that's all.

Yes Mercury (as the Mail Server) runs happily on Win2K Pro. I have it happily
running for the last 2 years.

I am not sure what is going on there but you might want to ask in the
alt.mail.pegasus-mail.ms-windows

Even though it is a Pegasus Mail NG tMany of the users have Mercury as well
