hi all!
(background) i recently had an unfortunate experience with my msi 875p neo
mobo, when i corrupted the bios trying to update it.
for a quick, cheap fix i bought a mercury via pt800 mainboard on ebay.
system is: intel p4 2600 800fsb cpu
512mb 400ddr dimm
win xp pro
nvidea geforce fx 5200 graphics.
the problem is most times when i boot the system,i get 2 beeps followed by 2
beeps together & an error message saying bios settings incorrect press f2 to
load default settings,f1 to enter bios settings etc.
if i correct the settings it still reverts back to original problem,
subsequently.
if i press f2 the system boots but invariably crashes & reloads(usually
successfully!)
the bios date always reverts to 24th march 2004
i was wondering if the problem could be the battery on the mobo?
any help greatly appreciated,
regards,
terry.
