menu vs. large presentation

Is it better to link multiple slide shows together with a
menu slide that opens each presentation separately or to
merge them all into one big file that navigates to custom
shows?

I have always used the menu slide method but I lose the
presenter view on my second screen whenever I link to
another presentation.

It's a motter of choice I suppose. I do NOT like hyperlinking to other
presentations because it starts a second instance (or third, forth, etc.) of
PPT in memory.

But ... but ... but ... PowerPoint doesn't allow more than one instance of
itself in memory.
If one's already sitting there stranded, you can't even start another copy
of PPT, in fact.

It leaves both files open at the same time, though.

That's why I kinda like the (very simple) menu presentation linking to other
presentations one at a time approach. Seems to be quite lightweight.

I'm with Steve on that. So long as you have the "master-main-menu"
presentation calling up all the others presentations, there is only ever a
maximum of 2 presentations running at any one time.
