I just purchased a hp computer which has the vista pre loaded on it. Great
machine. I have a question, how do I change that awful gray that comes up
for the menus? Thanks. Catherine.

Hi Catherine,

Right click the desktop, choose personalize. Go to the Windows color
appearance settings, then click advanced. From the item dropdown, pick
"menu", then change the color on the right. Apply/ok your way out.

Rick,

I followed the directions exactly as you said, I still get the grey menu
box, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Catherine.

Where is the ' advanced ' button or control ?

On my ' Window Color Appearance ' screen there is just a row of coloured screens and a slider
control.

Running Home Premium.

Hi,

Yes, forgot to mention that you have to revert to the classic scheme for
this.
