Hi
I have a HP desktop with 256mb DDR SDRAM DIMM
I just got a new 512md memory stick, can install this one in addition
to the old one?
Or i have to remove one stick and install the new one

You need to read your "HP desktop" manual.......there are a multitude of
these in the marketplace so it is impossible to give you a specific answer.
In the manual you need to check.......number of RAM slots available??
Type of RAM.....new
needs/should match old PC100??..PC133??...DDR?? type and speed need to
match
Will this system handle
a 256 plus a 512 stick...

Their website and the model number of the computer should give you this
information.
Crucial.com also has a scanner tool as well a matching tool
