Hi, i got a big problem my i get 256*2 but when i press "My computer" And
"Show System Information" my computer says:

Computer:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
2.17GHz, 256 MB RAM

What's Wrong? someone know?

If you have a motherboard with 256mb on board video memory, and the video
memory allocation is set to 256 or 'auto' in BIOS, then the RAM shown in
system properties will be the total (512mb) - allocated Video RAM (256mb)
leaving a grand total of 256mb..

Either install more RAM, or go into BIOS and change the allocation..

Oh, Thaks A Lot I'll try it out:)

Use Start - Run - MSCONFIG, go to the BOOT.INI tab and click on the
Advanced Options button. Make sure the checkbox for the "/MAXMEM="
line is clear and there is no value in the data box for that line.

If that does not work, shut down the computer and remove one of the
memory modules. Then try starting it up and see what happens. If it
starts up okay then shut it down, reinstall the module that you
removed and remove the other one.

If that also starts up okay shut it down and reinstall the second
module and check the memory amount again.

This checking will determine if one of the memory modules is defective
or is not fully seated in the socket.

Good luck

Unless you have 128 MB onboeard video (unlikely), you have a bad stick
of RAM.
