I want to eliminate certain names from popping up in the "to" line of email
when beginning a persons name or email address. Often times it is the
incorrect name, such as McQuillan, and McMahon, and one or the other will pop
up, whichever you used previously. Can you erase the memory of previously
sent addresses so that they do not appear automatically?

Answered thousands of times already. Use the arrow keys to select the
address you don't want and press Delete.

Why do you bother answering the question if you are annoyed by it? I'm not a
computer nerd.

Also, I will add that what you said is not working on my computer. I have
outlook 2002 xp, and you are perhaps refering to the most current version. I
have been told by microsoft representatives that it is not possible to delete
email addresses in memory.

The procedure Brian suggested is the correct one. Let's slow down and take it step by step:

1) Say, you type in McA and three names pop up, and you want to erase one of them from your autocomplete cache.

2) Use the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight that name.

3) Press the Delete key.

Where so you get the idea I was annoyed? And where do you get the idea you
have to be a computer nerd to use a simple tool like Google Groups?

And if you have only one entry that you want to delete, follow the procedure
