my memory is so low it is below the 15% needed to
defrag. I hardly have any progams on it I took everying
thing off and I just had windows xp installed maybe 5
weeks ago.

You may have to increase your page file. rt click MyComputer>select
Properties>Advanced>Performance-Settings>
Virtual Memory-Change. Click on Custom Size In the Initial Size Box
type 600 then in the Maximum Size box
type 600. Click on Set, OK.

Rich, he doesn't mean memory, he means hard drive space. Some people,
evidently, don't know the difference.

I think we need to clarify the terminology.

Memory is usually used in conjunction with RAM - either the main RAM
modules installed in the computer or the video RAM that is included on
the video card.

Hard drive space is most often referred to as storage, because that is
what it actually is - the place where programs and data files are
stored until they are needed for use by the computer. Think of the
hard drive as a filing cabinet.

One of the easiest ways to free up disk space is to run the Disk
Cleanup utility, which you will find in Accessories - System Tools on
the Start menu.

If that does not clear up the problem then post a response back here
and we will proceed further. In the response please included some
quantitative information, such as the total size of the hard drive and
the actual amount of free space. You can find this information by
opening "My Computer", right-clicking on the icon for the hard drive
(C:), and selecting Properties.

Good luck
