When I go into task mgr. it shows that windows is using 133 Mb when just idleing, is this the right amount that should be tied up??
I was having trouble with a program, and the company said I didn't have enough memory. PC has 256 Mb.. Program used to run fine on Win 98 with 128 Mb....

You would notice a difference if you had 518MB RAM
installed. I'm at 314MB on idle.I really need to look at
mine as well but I'm not experiencing any trouble and it
broke so don't fix it. What kind of trouble are you
experiencing? You can research to cut down on your idle
Memory by way of stopping things that don't need to be
started and running all the time. Have good anti-virus
and Spyware tools. If I find a link on trimming down those
Processes I'll post it here, or somebody might have one,
whose passing through.
Here are some Links to free programs that will help.

Windows XP requires over 128 Meg of ram just to operate.
On a 256 MB machine this leaves you little to no space to
operate other programs non the less the file too. Get more
ram... 512 is now about minimal specs.
