Is it a good idea to make changes in memory usage such as
switching from better performance in programs to system
cache or making changes in virtual memory usage in page
files by changing the amount from lowering it? Heard
someone say these changes help performance in programs and
especially in games and in games is where I thought by
attempting these changes might help eliminate choppy
graphics. Have a 9700 pro and just increased memory from
512 to 1 gig since prices have fallen and can't remember
where I heard about making changes in memory usage and
virtual memory in page files would help in xp. Seems like
there is more choppiness with xp than when I had win98.

Try killing some unneeded background services which run
by default but you really dont need

Indexing service is a major reason games may be choppy
