Memory Question -- How to Find Asus Suggestions Online

All,

How do I go about matching the suggested memory choices from the ASUS site
when I am shopping for memory? I can't seem to find any correlation between
the numbers given in ASUS' .pdf file and the part#s that are provided by any
number of online stores (specifically newegg.com)

Hi John,

If you go to http://www.crucial.com

Right in the middle of the page is a tool for checking which memory is
suitable for which mobo. Just follow the steps, and you'll be given a list
of memory modules which are warranted to be compatible with your mobo.

FWIW, Crucial are a very well regarded supplier of memory.

Also you can check out www.corsairmemory.com for a list of compatible memory,
also check out their RAM Guy Forums for suggestions and help.

Aside form Newegg.com check out monarchcomputer.com
Fast shipping and they have their own forums, I've gotten replys from their
techs in a short time, plus pretty good people frequent them.

Thanks for the tips everyone -- this will eventually be my first ever build
and I am trying to buy as smart-ly as possible.

This is also adding up a lot quicker than I thought it would, but that is
another story...

Just make sure to research how the board behaves with the compoants your
looking to get. I made that mistake with my current board. Picked the Ram
before the motherboard... huge nightmare.
