memory problem (RAM)

Hi
I am using pentium 4 1.50Ghz with Win XP pro with 256MB
memory and as soon as I start my computer my memory (RAM)
falled I have only 20% RAM free. I have deeleted TMP
folder + internet temp ect... I have scan my system and
disk, andtivirus as well but nothing change my computer
run on a very slow memory...
I have installed freeram XP pro 1.4 but still same
problem...
Any help or idea very welcome

Have you given any thought to adding more RAM? You should buy a 256MB
stick, or if you have only two slots on your machine, a 512MB stick to
augment the 128MB or 256MB memory you have in the slot(s) available. The
256MB you are running now is really the absolute minimum that can run XP and
your system.

Deleting temp folders and the like may free up some disk space,
but it will have no effect on RAM. Disk is not RAM.

Those RAM managers are useless on XP. Uninstall them.

If you suspect a RAM problem (you say it failed, whatever
that means), then find and run Memtest-86 or one of the
other RAM test programs. By the way, what error do you get
saying that RAM failed?
