Just wondering what's the forecast or trend for DRAM prices,
specifically PC3200 sticks?

I suddenly need some memory, about 2GB of PC3200 and I haven't kept up
with the trend or prices. I can wait, but I don't want to wait so long
that the product will be discontinued.

Any comments?

According to one business analyst (in an Irish publication), DRAM prices
will be rising in the 2nd half of 2007, despite increased production.

That would be my guess too since people will likely wait for Vista to get
the remaining bugs sorted out before jumping to buy more memory to get their
system Vista ready. I just wonder which DRAM's will be phased out completely
in 2007.

In any case, there doesnt seem to be much info available, I guess because
people are actually trading in DRAM's these days in the stock market.

I like this stuff because it's reasonably priced and CAS 2.
I sometimes see a lot of CAS 3 stuff for about the same money.
Best prices were last summer before the big price cuts on
processors. Don't know how fast you want to run it, but for PC3200
speeds, I'd recommend this G.SKILL ram at $199 a pair of 1Gig sticks
for price to performance ratio, but I'd expect the price to rise as
supplies shrink. You can never tell though.
