Have developed three potentially related problems with
Internet Explorer 6 recently.

1. No offer to save user id's and passwords to secure
sites anymore. Have to enter each time visited again.

2. Forward and Back buttons not lit on any IE 6 windows
nor on any computer folder windows.

3. Clicking the Internet Options globe produces the
error message:

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator."

A problem with some sort of Password or Memory Manager?

If the computer doesn't remember user id's or passwords,
then it seems logical that it also wouldn't remember
where I've been previously in windows or internet
explorer.

I AM the System Administrator, or rather the sole user
with System Administrator priviledges, and restoring the
registry to a point prior to when the problems began did
not solve the problems. Also, reinstalling Windows XP
Home did not solve the problems.

Any suggestions?

Item 3:
Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel"
