If XP is supposed to manage and use memory more efficiently, then why is it
only using only 30% of my 1024 (as reported by the task manager). Like ME do
I need to make some modifications?

Thanks
Bob

XP will use what it needs when it needs it. Maybe you don't need 1 gig of
RAM. Many/most do not!

If you are running VirtualPC, PhotoShop, AutoCAD or one of a few various
hungry programs it is useful.

If you knew as much as you thought you know,
You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!

Makes you wonder if installing 1gb of RAM is worth it, eh.. the law of
diminishing returns applies to memory as much as anything else.. if you are
in the process of video editing or similar, Windows would undoubtedly use
more than it is showing presently..

No. That suggests that your workload would be perfectly happy on a
512MB machine. The task manager figures can be misleading though. Read
