memory loss

I have a resource/memory loss problem with Win 98. Will
upgrading to xp home take care of that problem? My
computer tech is not recommending I upgrade but rather
install the full xp.

Your friend is correct. The #2 rule of upgrading is: Never upgrade over a
problem.

(The #1 rule is: Backup.)

If your system is so old that you are using Win98 then it is possible
that it isn't able to use WinXP. Now is the time to think about buying a
modern computer. Check around for about 500.00 there are some pretty
good buys. Most come with WinXP home, so you save close to 200.00 right
there. In the long run it is better than throwing good money into trying
to upgrade a low end computer. :-)
