My client's computer has recently been receiving an ad for what's called "Memo Turbo Deluxe"

Supposedly it helps against "Memory Leaks" etc

Not being extremely Computer savvy, I'm just not sure how much this software is really needed

Are Memory Leaks a scam, or is this software a scam

Any imput would be appreciated

Mem Turbo Deluxe and all other programs of similar ilk including Free
Ram XP Pro are pure unadulterated crapware that are totally incapable
of performing any beneficial function for any computer running Windows
XP under any circumstances.

See http://www.radsoft.net/resources/software/reviews/redux/ for an in
depth discussion of these so called memory freeing programs.

Good luck

Are memory leaks a real issue? And if so, is there anything that can be done about it/for it.

A 'memory leak' refers to memory reserved by an application that is not
released when the application closes. They are caused by sloppy programmers,
not Windows XP. If you have an application with a memory leak, you'll have
to discuss it with the people who wrote the program.

My pleasure. Actually, application programmers are getting more and more
careful about this, since so many of us have complained.
