Memory - install 1 or 2 or 3 sticks, or not?

In my Motherboard (Asrock? 2003?) manual, it says this for memory:
3 slots for DDR: DIMM1, DIMM2, DIMM3

I currently have a a PC 2700 (DDR 333) in DIMM1 - one slot used up.

I can't figure out if I can install more memory in the system - I do
have 2 slots free, but the manual says:

PC1600/PC2100 for 3 DDR DIMM slots, max 3GB
PC2700 for 2 DDR DIMM slots, Max 2 GB
PC 3200 for 1 DDR DIMM slot, Max 1 GB

Does this mean that if I cannot use third slot if I have a PC2700
setup in DIMM1?

Thanks in advance for any explanation!

I would like to insert a 1G DIMM in DIMM2 - not sure if I can do that
(I have a 512MB PC 2700 filling slot 1 - DIMM1).

according to your maunual you can put in a total of two sticks of
PC2700...so yes, you should be able to add a single, 1gig stick

Yes, but you can use all three slots with PC2700 memory if you change the bus speed to 266 Mhz (PC2100 speed)

That should work.

You should have an K7S8X mobo.
This chipset (SiS 7xx) cannot handle with more than 1 module WHEN
WORKING at DDR400, 2 at DDR333 and 3 at DDR266.
It´s not about memory specification but with current operating
frequency, that should be synchronous with CPU FSB.
If u have a 133mhz (266) based CPU u can use 3 sticks at 133mhz, even
they´re DDR400 labeled, maximum 1GB each. []´s
