i recently purchased a new game(star wars Jedi knights;jedi academy) and it
automatically checks my system specs to see if it is sufficient. i failed one
of the tests however, even though my pc is less than 8 months old. I
regularly defrag both c and d drives and delete temporary files with disk
cleanup, however, the feedback that i got told me that i had insufficient
memory on my D drive (recovery). i have about 898MB free space and 1200 is
required. Is there any way i can free up some memory in the D drive and can
you give me a walkthrough on how i can achieve this?

Usually it's "hands off" for the recovery partition. Messing with it could
cause it to become unusable. Is there not enough room on C: for this
program to install?

there's more than enough. i have no idea why so much space is required for
the D drive, as in theory, it shouldn't be getting used by the game at all

Very odd. If you're installing to C:, the program shouldn't care about D:
at all. You might want to check the tech support pages for the game. They
may have a fix for this problem with their installer.

I suspect that you shouldn't have
defragmented the drives just yet unless
your system told you to. so I assume
that you want to convert memory from
D to C or C to D ???

your C & D drives are part of your partition files
the D drive would be your drive that will backup &
recover your system in case it fails, this is why people
will have to create & make backup discs just in case they
can't recover their system.

The C drive would be your NTFS files which is basically
everything , your desktop, games, folders, e-mails,
toolbars,music, anti-virus keyboard, mouse, cds,floppy disks, plug & play
devices, drivers,etc,etc,etc,etc.

right ok. so what do i do now i have backed-up the system files?
