Try opening event viewer, the freezing of computer or program mos
likely will show up here, click the url for any event/error,this opens help/suppor
in xp,usually with an answer.

How did you upgrade? Did you wipe your OS and start from scratch or
did you do a "warm upgrade"? Although XP can cope with the latter
better than some of its predecessors, the former is safer.

If you reinstalled everything from scratch and your hardware (esp.
video) and software is all "officially" XP compatible, you most
probably have some hardware, possibly memory, that is being more
stressed by XP than it was by your previous OS and not coping. OS
and/or software tweaks are unlikely to help you.
