memory(enemy territory)

is there a way to make sure a game is getting enough ram,
as when i play enemy territory it freezes in 32bit colour
and my comp meets all the required specs to play the
game .
it is not a constant thing but enough to get anoying.how
can i devote more memory to a game as the xp help only
says that you can !!!! it dosent say how to do it though

RAM is added to make the game faster and might not be a
good idea if your crashing. Edit the config file, and the
entire game will probably run on under 400 MB however
server settings have the last say on how much RAM is
actually used.

Do a Google search for Boot Camp RTCW if your determined
that will at least give you some idea on editing the
configs.

Your comp is freezing and its not uncommon, the reasons
however are many and varied and the solutions also.
 
I don't think this would be a problem for a Quake III game but I read in a
gaming magazine recently that sometimes the opengl32.dll in the game
directory can cause problems. You might try checking your RCTW folder and
renaming the opengl32.dll to "opengl32.old" and copying the opengl32.dll
from your %windir%\system32 directory into the RTCW folder.
