Whenever I try to run some programs I get this error:

'The instruction at 0x77f7e22a referenced memory at 0x00be3f7c. The
memory could not be read'.

Then the offending program must be closed.

When I think about the problem appears to occur when a DNS lookup is
required. Pinging numeric IP address works okay. The problem occurs
when a host name lookup is required.

Does any one have an idea? It also seems to stop some Net related
services from working such as MySQlFront, which complains about a
socket error?

Any help?

those are memory address locations. there is a chance
that either part of windows is corrupted, or, if the same
numbers/letters are repeated each time, you have a bad
memory block.

I switched the memory but the problems still comes up.
It is clearly related to DNS lookups.

Are there any reports of a Trojan or a Virus that causes this problem?
